Web Metrics Services

"People commonly use statistics like a drunk uses a lamp post -- for support rather than illumination" -- Mark Twain

What are web metrics?

Web servers (the computers that host your site) generally keep track of many statistics (e.g. # of visitors, pageviews). Tracking technology (scripts) can also be embedded in the HTML code to provide additional statistics. We use a combination of script-based tracking and server stats to provide you a complete picture of who is visiting your site, how they found it and how they are using it.

Why are they so important?

You can't improve what you can't measure. With our help analyzing your site data, you'll be able to tell who visited your site, where they are located (down to city/state), how they found your site, which keywords they used to find you in a search engine and what they did once they found your site. Web metrics are absolutely critical in tracking your paid marketing efforts. For example, you can track each online sale to determine whether the purchaser came to your site through an email campaign, a search engine listing, a pay-per-click ad or through a link on another site. Using regional segmentation, you can even track the impact of your local offline (tv, radio) advertising.
